Section 03

Children's Privacy

Firebirds provides programs for children and teenagers, and protecting young athletes' information is especially important to us.

Our website is intended primarily to provide information to families and the community and to allow parents, guardians, and other adults to interact with Firebirds.

Children under 13 should not independently submit personal information through the Firebirds website. A parent, legal guardian, or other authorized adult should complete registration forms, inquiries, and other forms that request personal information relating to a child under 13.

Information about young athletes may be provided to Firebirds by their parents or guardians as reasonably necessary to register for and participate in Firebirds programs.

Firebirds does not knowingly sell children's personal information or use children's personal information for targeted or behavioral advertising.

If we learn that personal information has been submitted directly by a child under 13 without appropriate parental involvement, we will take reasonable steps to delete the information or obtain appropriate parental authorization.

A parent or legal guardian who believes Firebirds has collected personal information directly from their child may contact us using the information provided below.

Section 04

Athlete Photos, Video, Results & Achievements

As a youth athletic organization, Firebirds documents and celebrates participation, competition, achievement, and club history.

The Firebirds website, social-media accounts, publications, and official communications may contain photographs, video, competition results, athlete names, relay performances, awards, championship results, or other information relating to Firebirds athletes.

The publication of athlete photographs or other media is separate from the collection of information through ordinary website forms and may also be governed by registration materials, media releases, parental permissions, competition rules, event policies, or other applicable authorizations.

Firebirds seeks to use youth athlete information responsibly and in a manner consistent with the purposes of the organization.

Parents or legal guardians with questions or concerns regarding an image or information about their child appearing on a Firebirds-controlled website or communication may contact us.

Section 05

How We Share Information

Firebirds does not sell personal information.

We may disclose information in limited circumstances necessary to operate the organization, including:

Service Providers

We may use third parties to provide website hosting, form processing, registration, communications, payment processing, donation processing, data storage, analytics, security, and other operational services.

Athletic Organizations and Event Administrators

Information may be provided to governing bodies, meet directors, event organizers, leagues, facilities, timing providers, or other organizations when reasonably necessary to register athletes, enter competitions, verify eligibility, administer events, or conduct Firebirds programs.

Professional and Organizational Advisors

Information may be disclosed when reasonably necessary to accountants, insurers, attorneys, consultants, or similar advisors supporting Firebirds operations.

Legal and Safety Purposes

We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law, legal process, governmental request, or is necessary to protect an athlete, another individual, Firebirds, or the public.

We may also disclose information when you direct us to do so or otherwise provide appropriate authorization.

Section 06

Third-Party Services

The Firebirds website may rely on third-party services to provide certain functionality.

These services may include website hosting and content management, online forms, registration services, payment and donation processing, email and text communications, analytics, security, embedded content, maps, social-media platforms, event management, and other operational services.

When you leave the Firebirds website or interact directly with a third-party service, that provider may collect information under its own privacy policy and terms.

Firebirds does not control the independent privacy practices of third-party websites and encourages users to review the applicable privacy policies before providing personal information.

The specific third-party providers used by Firebirds may change over time as our website, programs, registration systems, communications tools, fundraising services, and technology evolve. We may update this Privacy Policy when material changes to those services affect how personal information is collected, used, or disclosed.

Section 07

Donations & Payments

Firebirds may use third-party payment processors to handle registration fees, donations, sponsorship payments, and other transactions.

Payment-card information submitted through those services is provided directly to the applicable payment processor rather than intentionally stored by Firebirds on the Firebirds website.

We may nevertheless receive transaction information such as your name, contact information, amount paid or donated, transaction date, transaction status, and other information necessary to administer programs and maintain appropriate financial and donor records.

Section 08

  • dates and times of visits;
  • time spent on pages;
  • website navigation and interaction information;
  • device or browser identifiers;
  • cookie identifiers;
  • form and website interaction events;
  • general website performance and diagnostic information; and
  • information concerning whether communications or website features have been viewed or used.

Essential Cookies

Some cookies and similar technologies may be necessary for the website to function properly. These technologies may support website security, network management, accessibility, form functionality, session management, fraud prevention, user preferences, and other essential website functions.

Because these technologies are necessary to provide the website or a service requested by the visitor, they may not always be capable of being disabled through website privacy controls.

Analytics and Performance

Firebirds may use analytics and performance technologies to better understand how visitors use our website.

These services may help us understand which pages are visited, how visitors arrive at the website, how visitors navigate between pages, which website features are used, whether errors occur, and general website performance.

We may use this information to maintain and improve the website, understand community interest in Firebirds programs, and evaluate the effectiveness of our communications.

Functional Technologies

We may use technologies that enable additional website features or integrations, including embedded forms, maps, videos, social-media content, registration tools, donation tools, calendars, or other interactive services.

When you interact with an embedded or integrated third-party service, that provider may collect information independently in accordance with its own privacy policy.

Advertising and Marketing Technologies

Firebirds may use marketing, advertising, or measurement technologies to understand the effectiveness of outreach campaigns or communications and to understand how visitors arrive at or interact with the Firebirds website.

If these technologies are implemented, third-party providers may receive information such as device identifiers, IP addresses, browser information, referring pages, website interactions, and other technical information.

Firebirds does not sell personal information and does not intend to use personal information about children for targeted or behavioral advertising.

Social Media Technologies

The website may contain links to or integrations with social-media services. Social-media providers may use cookies, pixels, or similar technologies when you interact with their services or, depending on the integration, when you visit a page containing their technology.

Information collected independently by a social-media provider is governed by that provider's privacy policy and account settings.

Third-Party Website Technologies

Our website may be built, hosted, or supported using third-party technology providers. We may also use third-party services for website hosting and content management, analytics, registration, online forms, email and newsletter communications, donations and fundraising, payment processing, event management, embedded media, maps, social-media integrations, security, fraud prevention, and other operational services.

These providers may use cookies or similar technologies as necessary to provide their services to Firebirds or, where permitted, for purposes described in their own privacy policies.

Your Cookie Choices

Depending on the technologies enabled on the Firebirds website and applicable legal requirements, visitors may be provided with tools to accept, reject, or manage certain categories of nonessential cookies.

You may also be able to control cookies through your web browser or device settings. Most browsers allow users to delete existing cookies, block certain cookies, receive notifications before cookies are stored, or otherwise manage cookie preferences.

Blocking or disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality or availability of some website features.

Where required by applicable law, Firebirds will obtain appropriate consent before using nonessential cookies or similar technologies.

Browser Privacy Signals

Certain browsers or devices may transmit privacy preference signals, including Global Privacy Control or similar mechanisms. Where Firebirds is legally required to recognize such a signal, we will endeavor to process it in accordance with applicable law and the technical capabilities of our website and service providers.

Children and Tracking Technologies

Because Firebirds serves children and teenagers, we take particular care regarding technologies that may collect information relating to young users.

Firebirds does not intend to knowingly use cookies, pixels, persistent identifiers, or similar technologies to create advertising profiles of children or to serve children targeted behavioral advertising.

Parents and guardians should supervise children's use of the Firebirds website and should submit registration, inquiry, and other personal information concerning children under 13 on their behalf.

Section 09

Email & Other Communications

You may receive operational communications relating to registration, programs, events, inquiries, donations, coaching, volunteering, or other interactions you initiate with Firebirds.

Promotional or newsletter communications are separate. Where an opt-in is provided, choosing not to receive promotional communications will not prevent Firebirds from sending necessary administrative communications related to your participation, inquiry, or transaction.

You may unsubscribe from promotional emails using the unsubscribe mechanism provided in the message or by contacting Firebirds.

Section 10

Data Security

Firebirds uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, misuse, or destruction.

We also seek to limit access to personal information to individuals and service providers who reasonably need the information to perform Firebirds-related responsibilities.

No website, database, electronic transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Accordingly, Firebirds cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted or stored electronically.

Section 11

Data Retention

Firebirds retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including program administration, athlete participation, communications, organizational recordkeeping, legal requirements, financial obligations, dispute resolution, and safety purposes.

Information that is no longer reasonably necessary will be deleted, anonymized, or otherwise appropriately disposed of when practicable, subject to applicable legal and organizational recordkeeping requirements.
